Surgical site infection after hospital discharge is one of the most common postoperative complications, amplified by the lack of effective follow-up, where the physical presence of these patients in post-discharge consultations is hindered by geographic and socioeconomic barriers. In this sense, it is crucial to use technologies that expand access to postoperative care. Based on this, the project aims to use an intelligent chatbot based on LLM to support actions in health surveillance through interaction with text and voice, furnishing reminders on care, performing regular check-ins, collecting data on patients’ health status, and alerting healthcare professionals to any signs of complications. It is expected that the integration will significantly improve the efficacy of recovery and post-discharge surveillance, expanding access and safety in remote care, and reducing complications, readmissions, and overload on the health system. The proposal will be targeted to patients from the university hospital of the Federal University of Pernambuco HC-UFPE, a large-scale hospital belonging to the Unified Health System (SUS), and the 41 hospitals in the Ebserh networks, as well as health professionals, who will have access to the chatbot as a tool to improve communication, monitoring, and management of postsurgical care. By applying advanced technology, this project aims to fill the gap in the communication between the healthcare team and the patient, overcoming the limitations of conventional methods and providing a personalized and accessible solution, contributing to digital transformation of the SUS with inclusion and equity.
