Genomic Epidemiology of Malaria in a Gold Mining Areas in Brazil

This project aims to generate data-to-action and implement genomic surveillance of parasite resistance to antimalarials and vector resistance to insecticides in gold mining areas in the state of Pará, Brazil. By addressing 65 gold mines that are foci for malaria transmission, the project will implement molecular and genomic techniques with a web-based information system, to operationalize malaria surveillance and assist decision-making by the National Malaria Control Program.
